SAN DIEGO, CA – One driver died, and another sustained injuries after two vehicles collided along SR-94 early Friday morning, reports NBC 7 San Diego.
The incident happened just after 4 a.m. on the westbound side of SR-94 near I-5 northbound, which is in the Golden Hill Area.
Police say that a speeding Ford F-250 rear-ended a Honda Accord. The force of the collision caused the truck to flip.
The driver of the Ford died at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released their identity to the public.
The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries.
Officials closed a portion of westbound SR-94 in the vicinity of the accident while crews worked to investigate and clear the scene. All lanes re-opened by around 7:30 a.m.
A full investigation is underway.
