News: Single-car crash kills 18-year-old in Pine Valley

PINE VALLEY, CA – An 18-year-old died  last Monday after losing control of his vehicle and crashing along the highway in Pine Valley, reports Fox 5 San Diego.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. on Monday, March 13th on Old Highway 80, just east of the Sunrise Highway, which is in the Cleveland National Forest.

The investigation indicates that for unknown reasons, the young man lost control of his eastbound Toyota Camry and overturned after hitting an embankment on the westbound side of the road. 

The driver, identified as Joshua Spirz of Campo, died at the scene of the accident after exiting his overturned vehicle.

A full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
